Lelith Hesperax Vs. Jain Zar

Second Match:

The battle of the scary Eldar close combat ladies

Lelith has a scary stat line

Jain Zar is just plain scary

Round 1 BEGIN!
Lelith goes first with a devistating seven attacks, all hit but due to her low Strength no wounds were caused.
Jain Zar is hampered by Lelith's Shardnet and goes down to only three attacks, but that could be all she needs.
Alas only one hit due to Lelith's incredibly high WS but it does not wound.
What I thought was going to be a rather one sided fight suddenly got a lot more interesting!
Round 2 BEGIN!
Lelith scores five hits and converts that into three wounds! Jain Zar goes down! Looks like she will be waiting for another Banshee to take up the mantle of phoenix lord.

Final Result:
Lelith 3 Wounds remaning
Jain Zar 0 Wounds remaining

That fight was over lightning quick and very nearly in Lelith's first round of combat, Jain Zar with her 4th Edition Stat line and rules never realy stood a chance.  Methinks the phoenix lords need serious changes for 6th! An invun save wouldnt have gone amiss.

Lelith is truly a close combat monster! expect to see her fight again soon!

Kaldor Draigo Vs. Marneus Calgar

So im going to try to make this a weekly thing, pitting two of 40k's finest against each other.

Here are the rules for this little fight club of mine.

1, Combat will be started at combart turn 2, so neither char gets an additonal attack for assaulting

2, In this anyone can fight anyone, regardless of codex, army etc

3, 6th Edition rules only

4, The fight will be tothe death

First up:

Kaldor Draigo Vs. Marneus Calgar

Calgar with his termie armour and twin power fists

Draigo with his termie armour, Titan sword and storm shield

NOTE: As im new to 6th Ed if I do somthing wrong let me know as I am still learning :)

Round 1 BEGIN!

As Calgar becomes I1
Drago steps up to bat first, three hits then a re-roll thanks to his master crafted force sword mean four hits in total, all of them wound. As Calgar has eternal warrior it seems pointless to activate the force weapon and at AP3 Calgar gets his termie 2+ save, and saves all four wounds.

Calgar hits back, and hits twice from his five attacks, one wound with a re-roll makes two, nasty AP2 power fists means Draigo has to rely on his shield to save him, and he makes both saves!

Round 2 BEGIN!
Drago once again gets four hits and causes three wounds, lets see if Calgar can keep up his lucky streak, once again termie armour to the rescue, I think this may be a looong fight.

Calgar gets three hits and converts that into three wounds, can Draigo's shield protect him this time? No!, Draigo takes a single wound from one of Calgar's mighty Gauntlets of Ultramar!

First blood to Calgar!

Round 3 BEGIN!
Draigo is not happy with the new hole Calgar punched into his armour and he lets him know about it by causing two wounds and his fury is such that Calgar can only save one of them, both warriors go down to three wounds each.

Calgar, wanting to finish the fight wades in again and the end result sees Draigo lose another wound to a mighty blow from a power fist.

Round 4 BEGIN!

Draigo must not be feeling well now hes been knocked down to half his starting wounds, but he fights back scoring four hits and two wounds, one of which finds its way through Calgar's ornate tatical drednought plate.

Calgar seemed to have enough messing about with the legendary Grey Knights grand master, as this turn all of his attacks hit and wound.  Draigo, relying on an already shot to hell shield could only stare as three of Calgar's attacks breached its defences.

Final Result:

Calgar 2 Wounds remaining
Draigo -1 Wounds remaining

Painting the storm thingy

So looking arround youtube for a pre-shading guide I came across this:

Painting a Storm thingy

Then it turns out both my air brushes are broke beyond repair.

As soon as I sort out a new one and get a few extra paints I will be following this guide and trying my best to replicate the painting shown, with a few twists of my own ofc.

Recognise this type of grey knight?

My army will have a few classic models such as this older pattern of terminator armour as well as the older metal power armour models.

Stay tuned for more pics and updates!

Storm thingy

So I now have the first model officaly ready to paint (almost) for my Grey Knights army.

HAHA Drinking!

So anyway, here is my new baby :)

A Grey Knights stormthingy all ready to be basecoated and painted for the service of Titans great heros.  As you can see it has the chapterhouse kit on it which lengthens the body to a point were it looks like it could carry 6 termies and a dred.

Still struggling for ideas as to the scheme it will be painted, wanted to do a non-metalic metal army but I think time restraints will mean this may be limited to special models.

A local gaming club is having a doubles torney in March next year and its my intent to take my Knights to it, along with a complete understanding of 6th edition.
